Cannock Chase District Council is inviting families to a free community event on Monday 20 July to celebrate the opening of the new Cannock Park Heritage Trail. The event runs from 1pm to 3pm in the park and marks a step forward in improvements to the park's facilities and visitor experience.
What's on the trail
Ten new interpretation panels have been installed across Cannock Park and Cannock Park Golf Course. Three interactive trails are now available for visitors to explore.
The Tree Trail features QR codes with information about the park's trees. Hear Our Heritage is an audio trail sharing stories about the park's history. The Cannock Park Tales Trail includes animations and poetry created by local artists and schoolchildren.
All three trails can be explored through the Cannock Chase Can app, where visitors can unlock digital content and earn rewards.
Launch event activities
The launch event will include free activities for children and families, with creative sessions and sporting games. Local artists Jennie Moore and Pep the Poet, who created content for the Tales Trail with students from local schools, will be delivering sessions at the event.
