The Hart School in Rugeley has reported more Grade 8 and Grade 9 GCSEs than ever, after results were released on Thursday 20 August 2026.
The Creative Education Trust school said 79 per cent of pupils passed English Language and/or Literature. Photography recorded 47 Grade 9s, with strong scores also reported for Creative iMedia and performing arts vocational courses.
Among the named results were Rachael Freeman, with eight Grade 9s, one Grade 8 and one Distinction; Lizzie Glynn, with four Grade 9s, four Grade 8s and one Grade 5; and Isabelle Fielding, with six Grade 8s, three Grade 7s and one Distinction.
Many pupils are expected to stay on in the school’s sixth form, which last week reported that more than three-quarters of A-level students were heading to university or higher apprenticeships.
Principal Rachael Sandham said: “It’s fantastic to see this continued exam success across the school, with our students achieving great GCSE results across a wide range of subjects.”
She added: “To see more pupils than ever before achieving the highest grades is also testament to their hard work, determination and resilience. I hope that every student feels proud of what they’ve achieved and confident about taking their next steps.”
